Rick Baker, PE
Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Managing Partner

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and FMG’s Managing Partner, Rick has professional registrations in Civil and Chemical Engineering. Rick has over 30 years of experience in multi-disciplinary projects including geotechnical engineering, geosciences, natural resource development and energy. He has managed urban to heavy civil infrastructure, mining, natural resources and energy development projects throughout the United States and abroad.

Jerry Foster, PE
President and Project Manager

As the President and a Project Manager of FMG with over 40 years’ experience in civil engineering, Jerry is responsible for the management of the Transportation, Site Development and Storm Water Management Divisions of FMG. Jerry also has extensive experience with commercial site development, municipal infrastructure and land development.

Alex Fisher, PE, GE
Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Vice President

Alex is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and the Vice President of FMG. Alex has over 20 years of experience managing multi‐disciplinary engineering project and leads the Geotechnical, Materials Testing and Environmental Divisions at FMG. A graduate of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Alex manages projects in the heavy civil infrastructure, mining, natural resources and energy development markets throughout the United States and abroad.

Jason Pettyjohn, PE
Senior Civil Engineer and Vice President

As a Senior Civil Engineer with over 17 years of experience in civil engineering planning, design and construction contract administration, Jason is responsible for coordination and completion of civil infrastructure projects as well as the majority of specialized water and sanitary sewer projects at FMG.  Jason is involved with various street and site development projects including the study, design and construction of water and wastewater utility projects.

Richard Sudmeier, PE
Senior Civil Engineer and Vice President

As a Senior Engineer with over 19 years of experience in civil engineering, planning, design and construction contract administration, Richard is responsible for analysis and design of transportation, drainage, bridge and utility projects. Richard also manages the analysis and permitting for projects located within regulated floodplains. 

Jason Hinds, PE
Senior Civil Engineer and Vice President

As a Senior Civil Engineer with FMG, Jason is responsible for the management and completion of civil and geotechnical engineering projects. Jason has over 15 years’ experience in civil and geotechnical engineering. His areas of expertise include geotechnical engineering design, slope stability analysis, solid waste engineering and site planning and development.

Kyle Hansen
Senior Civil Engineer

Kyle is a project engineer with over 10 years of experience in civil engineering site planning, site design, stormwater management, and construction contract administration. He is a graduate from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and native to the Black Hills Area. His work experience is diverse and can most likely be found working on his own home projects when not in the FMG office.

Zach Keeney
Senior Civil Engineer

Zach is a Senior Engineer with over 10 years of experience in civil engineering, design and construction contract administration. Zach’s skills include roadway design, drainage, water system improvements, wastewater, and construction management in the municipal infrastructure and oil and gas markets. 

John Lucas
Engineer in Training

As a Civil Engineer in Training with three years of progressive civil engineering and inspection experience, John is responsible for construction management, inspection, project administration and civil engineering design.
